Cumberland Falls Moonbow Pilgrimage Itinerary (8/13/2019 - 8/16/2019)

Once upon a time, when my best friend and I were about 12-13 years old. We were perusing the internet when we stumbled upon a shady looking website advertising a “moonbow”. Not only did it have such a cute name, but it was one of the only moonbows in the world. We vowed that when we were old enough to drive, we would behold this sight - found at Cumberland Falls, Kentucky. Well, life got in the way and taking a drive from California to Kentucky was more work that we expected. It wasn’t until a little over a decade later that we managed to complete our “pilgrimage”. Here’s a brief chronicle of our tale. Enjoy!
Day 1 - 8/13/2019 - St. Louis:
6:00 AM - 3:00 PM Work & Pack Car
3:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Drive to St. Louis from Kansas City
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM: Get Settled at AirBnB in Benton Park
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM: Dinner and Dessert at the Delmar Loop (Seoul Taco & Saint Louis Bubble Tea)
9:00 PM: Return to Airbnb & Sleep
Day 2 - 8/14/2019 - Cumberland Falls:
7:00 AM - 8:00 AM: Get Ready for Day
8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Breakfast at Egg
9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Drive to Malcolm W. Martin Memorial Park & The Gateway Arch
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Take Pictures of The Gateway Arch
11:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Drive to Nancy, Kentucky AirBnB
Tried Rally’s Fast Food for the First time in Bowling Green, Kentucky
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Lost an Hour to Time Zone Change
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Nap and Get Ready for the Night
Wear lots of Bug Spray!
9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Drive to Cumberland Falls Lodge & Waterfall
10:00 PM - 12:00 AM Experience the Moonbow!
12:00 AM - 1:00 AM: Drive Home and Go to Sleep
Day 3 - 8/15/2019 - Nashville
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Wake Up & Get Ready for Day
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Lunch at Speedy Taco
Great Mexican Food in the Middle of Kentucky!
12:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Drive to Franklin Airbnb
Airbnb was a beautiful cottage/ranch with horses!
3:30 PM - 6:30 PM: Spend time with Horses and Relax/Nap
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM: Get Ready for Night Out
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Drive to Downtown Nashville
9:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Dinner at Hattie B’s Nashville Hot Chicken
10:00 PM - 12:00 AM: Broadway in Downtown Nashville

Day 4 - 8/16/2019 - Nashville
