Once upon a time, when my best friend and I were about 12-13 years old. We were perusing the internet when we stumbled upon a shady looking website advertising a “moonbow”. Not only was did it have such a cute name, but it was one of the only moonbows in the world. We vowed that when we were old enough to drive, we would behold this sight - found at Cumberland Falls, Kentucky. Well, life got in the way and taking a drive from California to Kentucky was more work that we expected. It wasn’t until a little over a decade later that we managed to complete our “pilgrimage”. Here’s a brief chronicle of our tale. Enjoy!
The gist of what I did was just hot gluing leaves together and then taping them to my wall with double sided scotch tape. I wish I could say that I did something super cool and creative - but I didn't. But that also means that all those other not cool or creative people - like me - can totally do this too. Last weekend, I had the most wonderful opportunity to celebrate one of my best friends at her bachelorette party in Las Vegas! It truly is easy to have a great time in Sin City with everything happening 24/7. It’s such a unique environment and you really don’t need to plan out an itinerary beforehand. Regardless, I wanted to list out our adventures to help anyone out there decide how they’d like to experience the Las Vegas experience.
I was asked to make a video about what I would do with 10,000 ping pong balls. What an interesting question! I had to be genuine, creative, and intelligent at the same time as presenting myself well and representing who I was - that and more in such a curve “ball” of a question!
So, I had more of a Solo Disney 4 Hours than a whole day, but that's because I was amazed at how much I got done and I got a little motion sick form the excitement (embarrassing). Still, I was so anxious about going by myself. But once I set aside my anxiety at being alone, I had a great and whimsical time.
I understand that many, many people have significantly more impactful experiences than I do and I do not share my own in comparison to theirs. I share my own to show 3 defining times in my university experience that I was made to think that my professors expected less of me than of my male counterparts.
I'm terrible at surprises. I really am. I just get so excited and want to share so bad! So, instead of giving my BF his "Start of the World Cup" gifts at the start of the World Cup (Thursday), I opted for a few days early :P

Yesterday, I came to check on my plants after work. Lo and behold, my basil plant was chopped away, leaving none of its leaves to help it grow back…I am left perturbed that someone probably was a butt and violated the privacy of my apartment as well as murdered my poor plant!

Phuoc Loc Tho, or The Asian Garden Mall, is a Vietnamese shopping center located in the heart of Little Saigon, a district of Westminster, California. It often hosts little festivals, in celebration of Vietnamese culture and heritage, particularly around holidays and summer, when there is peak season. This year, my Vietnamese family and I decided to go there on Februrary 8th, 2018 to kick off our Lunar New Year celebrations.
Watch out for some light spoilers in the following review, I’ve tried to conceal them as well as possible while still getting my point across. However, if you’re a stickler for not knowing anything that happens in a book, maybe don’t read the review. Just know that I gave both Uglies and Pretties 3/5 stars on Goodreads. I don’t have a desire to read more books in the series and I am more than content to read the Wikipedia synopsis of the final two books (Specials and Extras). Westerfeld’s writing style was just not my cup of tea.

Before I completely admit that this Christmas season has come to a close, I wanted to briefly address a hotly debated issue. Of course, that issue is Baby, It’s Cold Outside, the Frank Loesser 1944 song that became a Christmas holiday anthem.
On December 9th (I know I’m super late in posting this, but still thought it was worth the effort!), I went to the Light Up the Season event hosted by the Disney Studio Lot in Burbank, California. It was my first time on the studio lot and I had so much fun. If you get the chance to visit, especially for an event like this one, I highly encourage you to take it. If anything, just for the ‘gram – as there are so many picture opportunities with iconic buildings, statues, and costumed characters.
